Adopt-A-College Student is a ministry at First Baptist Church that helps the First Baptist Church family get to know the college students on a more personal level. It's goal is for the church family to minister to college students while they may live away from their own families and be a supportive church family to them.

Adopt A College Student Guidelines
(for both adopted family and student)
We ask each adoptive family to do a minimum of the following:
(Note: Individual families may do more, depending on schedule, demands, family needs, or availability of discretionary income)
Host your adopt-a-student at least 3-4 times per semester, either for a meal at your home or a meal at a restaurant.
Learn about your adoptive student’s interests, family background, and needs.
Remember key dates in your adopted-student’s life and call, send a card, or host him/her at these key times.
Encourage your adopted-student.
We ask each adoptive student to do the following:
Accept graciously the range of services your adoptive family can extend.
Refrain from comparing your adoptive family, positively or negatively, with the range of services their fellow adoptive students may receive.
Respond to the services you receive from your adoptive family appropriately, i.e.: thank you notes, birthday reminders, etc.
Refrain from asking for additional services or hinting that additional services are needed.
