Purpose:  The purpose of the deacon ministry is to provide Christian leadership by serving the members of the church family and seeking to promote their spiritual and physical well being.

The deacon body of First Baptist Church serves the Lord in many ways at First Baptist Church.

The deacon body meets every month.  They are given a print out of church member's birthday for that month and they pray for them at the meetings.  They pray for every church member and regular attender at First Baptist Church. 

Each deacon is assgined to help minister to all the Sunday School Classes.  They are beginning a new Prayer Ministry for our church families.

The deacons are very involved in taking care of and ministering to the widows and shut-ins of the church.  The deacons deliver fruit baskets to the shut-ins at Christmas and remember them on their birthday with a birthday card.  The deacons honor and show appreciation to the widows and senior singles of our church with at Senior Single Banquet every year.

Some of the other ways they serve is through Lord's Supper, Van Duty and Security at First Baptist.
